Japan’s maglev train is a next-generation high-speed railway system, currently under construction as the Chūō Shinkansen, which will connect Tokyo and Nagoya. It uses magnetic levitation to achieve speeds up to 500 km/h, and a prototype has reached a record speed of 603 km/h, making it the fastest land vehicle ever built. The system is designed to be smoother and quieter than traditional trains, with an initial Tokyo-Nagoya section projected to open around 2034 after multiple delays.
