In 2024, BRO has cleared and opened the Manali Leh Highway on April 23, 2024. It took about 45 days to clear the Manali to Leh road between Jispa and Sarchu over Baralachala Pass. Even though the Manali Leh road is open or cleared of snow, only army and essential supply vehicles will be allowed in the initial weeks.
